SAUK CENTRE, MN (KDLM) – Tyler Stensgard and Logan Schons each shot 80s as the Detroit Lakes Lakers Boys Golf Teams took second and fifth place at the Sauk Centre Invitational at Greystone Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Lakers entered two different teams on Wednesday: Stensgard (80), Carter Whitworth (82), Brock Burhams (85), Noah Meyer (85), Cameron Cannon (90), and Tommy Suckert (99) finished eight shots behind Bemidji for the tournament win.
The team featuring Schons (80), Jack Syltie (83), Lawsen Justesen (87), Connor Nelson (92), Ben Hines (94) and Nick Tobkin (98) finished in fifth place, 12 shots behind their teammates.
Gannon Walsh of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrose earned medalist honors with a 74. Stensgard and Schons finished tied for sixth place and Whitworth tied for 10th.
The Lakers next meet is Friday at Bois des Sioux in Wahpeton.
