PERHAM (KDLM) – United Community Bank (UCB) has hired Alec Meyer to the bank’s mortgage department.
Meyer, a Perham native returns to the Lakes Area from Bemidji where he attended Bemidji State University. Meyer played baseball for the Beavers and graduated with a degree in Finance and Accounting. UCB was Meyer’s hometown bank growing up and one of the things that drew him to a career with UCB was the hometown feel of the bank, “This being a small town, they either know you, they know your family – they know who you are – it’s just awesome to be able to go into a place and it seems like they’ve known you your whole life. And now it’s funny, the shoe’s on the other foot and I’m the one working at the bank.”
Meyer says he’s excited to help community members in the mortgage department, but it’s more than just home loans, “In the mortgage department, we’re not just in the buying house market, we’re helping people with construction loans, refinancing homes – taking cash out to go start a business – we’re also helping with bare land loans, for instance if someone wants to go purchase an investment property or a lake place or hunting land – we can help you with that process.”
Coworkers describe Meyer as a genuinely kind personality – again showing why relationships are his first priority at UCB, “We’re an open resource, we don’t just want to develop loans with people we want to develop relationships and get to know them and help them in every stage of their life.”
Meyer can be contacted at218-346-9730 or by email at alecm@ucbankmn.com
