Perham’s Coach Cresap To Be Inducted Into VCSU Coaches Hall of Fame

PERHAM, MN (KDLM) – Dave Cresap, who has been the head coach at Perham High School for the last 27 seasons, will be inducted into the Valley City State University Coaches Hall of Fame this summer.

VCSU will induct coach Cresap during a ceremony on June 10 in Valley City.

“His dedication to working with student-athletes to build an overall program is evident in the success that he’s been able to captain as a Head Coach,” Perham Activities Director Erin Anderson said. “Congratulations to Coach Cresap on this great honor from Valley City State University.”

Cresap has been a basketball coach for 36 seasons, 27 of those in Perham. He has led the Yellowjackets to wins 644 wins during that period. He has coached Perham to five Class AA Tournament appearances and a Class AA Championship in 2011. Cresap was named the 2021-22 Section 8AA Coach of the Year this past year…the seventh time he has received that honor. He is a two-time State Coach of the Year in Minnesota and was named the National Coach of the Year. During his coaching tenure in North Dakota, he was the two-time District Coach of the Year in North Dakota.
