DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Executive Director of the Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes has announced she’s stepping down.

Amy Stearns will leave the position she’s held for nearly 20 years at the end of July to accept a position leading a new nonprofit being formed later this year in Detroit Lakes which will lease space in the DLCCC.

“I am beyond grateful for the experiences I’ve had in this position at the Holmes and absolutely awed and inspired by the countless audiences, colleagues/co-workers, artists, community members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers that have been a part of this journey,” said Stearns in a Facebook post. “Together, we’ve been able to create and expand the Holmes into all that it is today.”

The DLCCC which oversees the Historic Holmes Theatre will begin recruiting a new Executive Director with hopes of having someone in place this summer. Stearns has agreed to stay on in a part-time capacity to help mentor and orientate her successor.
