DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – State Patrol Troopers responded to more than 150 crashes, Wednesday morning as heavy, wet snow hit the Lakes Area and much of Central Minnesota.
The State Patrol says between 4 and 11 a.m. Wednesday they responded to 157 crashes, 18 with non-life threatening injuries and one with serious injury. Additionally, officers responded to at least one jackknifed semi and 97 vehicle which either spun out or were off the road. In Detroit Lakes a State Patrol squad car was rear-ended with no injuries reported.
The National Weather Service says anywhere from an inch to 10 inches of snow have been reported as a narrow band of snow pushed through the area in the early morning hours, Wednesday.
