Detroit Lakes Lions & Dairy Queen Partnering for Weekend Food Drive

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Becker County Food Pantry, Detroit Lakes Lions and Detroit Lakes Dairy Queen are partnering for a drive-thru food drive, Saturday.

Each cash donation will be matched by the Detroit Lakes Lions and anyone who donates cash, canned or non-perishable food items will receive a coupon for a free DQ treat.

Brad Carlson with the Becker County Food Pantry says they’re not very particular on what you donate, but there are some items that they would prefer not to receive, “If you’re really not into eating it, most of our clients aren’t really into eating it either. The basics, pork and beans, mac and cheese, peas, carrots, corn and other items like laundry detergents, feminine hygiene products we’ll take the whole gamut of items.”

The food drive runs from 12-4pm at the food pantry in Detroit Lakes, Saturday.
