DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A concert ticket scam has hit the Lakes Area.
A Detroit Lakes resident indicated they used Venmo to pay a third-party for concert tickets, but the tickets were fake and the Venmo account was also fake.
The resident is now working with Venmo to recoup their losses.
Experts say you can protect yourself from these types of scams by buying tickets from the venue box office or from authorized brokers and third party sellers with verified contact information.
