NAYTAHWAUSH (KDLM) – A Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in traffic stop that left one person shot.
The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office says around 1:30 a.m., Sunday, March 13 at Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop. A pursuit ensued and the suspect’s vehicle was stopped in the Village of Naytahwaush after it entered the ditch.
After the vehicle stopped shots were fired and an adult female suspect received gunshot wounds. The female was transported to a Fargo hospital and her condition is unknown.
The involved deputy was not injured and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (MN BCA).
