PELICAN RAPIDS (KBRF/KDLM) – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Pelican Rapids man for stealing nearly 200 catalytic converters.
Sheriff’s Office Investigators were able to link Darin Dillon of rural Pelican Rapids to thefts from the City of Pelican Rapids impound lot. Dillon has admitted to selling 155 catalytic converters and 69 vehicle batteries over just this past year to a business in Wilkin County, who has paid Darin over $50,000 in payments.
Investigators are working through dozens of theft reports in hopes to match up thefts to area victims. The majority of the thefts appear to be taken from vehicles from Pelican Rapids to Fergus Falls along with several county businesses.
