(KDLM ) – With the final Section championships in boys hockey last night, the field for the 2022 Boys State Hockey Tournament is set. The action begins at the Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday with the Class A quarterfinals.
Hermantown (25-2) earned the No. 1 seed in Class A and Hill-Murray (21-4-1) took the No. 1 seed in AA. Warroad and Andover will have a chance to sweep the high school hockey championships after their girls teams won state titles last weekend.
Class A
Quarterfinals – Wednesday, March 9
11 a.m. – #2 Warroad (23-3-1) vs. Monticello (12-14-1)
1 p.m. – #3 Mahtomedi (14-11-1) vs. Mankato East/Loyola (16-10-1)
6 p.m. – #1 Hermantown ( 25-2-0) vs. New Prague 10-15-2)
8 p.m. – #4 Minneapolis (20-6-1) vs. #5 Alexandria (18-6-2)
The semifinals will be held on Friday, March 11 with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Class A championship will take place on Saturday, March 12 at 12 p.m.
Class AA
Quarterfinals – Thursday, March 10
11 a.m. – #2 Cretin-Derham Hall (23-3-0) vs. Prior Lake (17-10-0)
1 p.m. – #3 Maple Grove (20-6-1) vs. Edina (19-8-0)
6 p.m. – #1 Hill-Murray (24-4-1) vs. Lakeville South (24-3-0)
8 p.m. – #4 Moorhead (20-6-1) vs. #5 Andover (21-5-1)
The semifinals will be held on Friday, March 11 with games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Class AA championship will take place on Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
