ST. PAUL (KDLM) – Becker County had more than 900 residents last year apply for a Permit to Carry.
In a newly released report from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension the state set a record for new handgun carry permits for a second straight year. More than 106,000 permits were issued an increase of more than 10% from the year before.
Becker County issued 869 new and renewed permits, while 148 were issued in Mahnomen County and 1509 in Otter Tail County.
There are currently just over 387,000 valid gun carry permits in the state.
