ST. PAUL (KDLM) – Perham native Cory Hepola has announced he intends to run for Governor of Minnesota.

Hepola, who most recently was a host on Twin Cities radio station WCCO-AM and has become a well-known media personality working for KARE 11 in Minneapolis as well as hosting the critically-acclaimed docuseries “Rural By Choice” officially made his announcement, Tuesday.

“Exhausted by the toxic two-party divisiveness that has failed our state and nation for decades, Cory will be running a positive, transparent, and accessible campaign that speaks to all Minnesotans who feel disillusioned with the status quo,” a press release said.

Hepola says he will be seeking the endorsement of the Forward Party of Minnesota and plans to give an initial press conference on Wednesday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at the State Capitol.
