DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes raised more than $57,000 during their 26th Annual Polar Fest Plunge on Little Detroit Lake, Saturday.
Large crowds gathered to watch and cheer on individuals, groups and organizations as they jumped into the icy waters of Little Detroit Lake all in the name of raising money for the Boys & Girls Club.
Pat Petermann, Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes Executive Director “I don’t what we had for a crowd, but it had to be over 700 people watching – we raised over $57,000 – couldn’t ask for anymore and 22 above.”
Around 150 people took part in the jump, Saturday. The money raised is used to provide after-school services, all-day summer camps, hot meals in the evening during the school year, and a hot lunch during the summer, plus other youth outreach events throughout the year.
