DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Students from across the Lakes Area participated in the 4th Annual Freshman Career Fair at Detroit Lakes High School, Wednesday
Around 600 students had hands on experience with Lakes Area businesses to help students learn about the wide array of professions in the Lakes Area. “The idea behind it is to give our freshman exposure to all the different career pathways and have them go around and talk to the professionals and different organizations and experience as much as they can, find out about as many different occupations as they can and different career pathways,” said Vern Schnathorst, Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Detroit Lakes Public Schools.
More than 60 businesses participated including Lakeshirts, SJE, BTD, Essentia Health, the Becker County Sheriff’s Department and a number of others.
