FARGO, ND (KDLM) – NDSU linebacker Jasir Cox has announced that he has entered the transfer portal.
“First and foremost I am blessed and thankful to be a part of a tremendous program,” Cox wrote on Twitter. “Thanks to Coach Entz, my teammates, staff, and the NDSU community. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal. Thank you for supporting me in chasing my dreams,”
Cox started all 14 games for the Bison in 2021-22, tallying 58 total tackles (third on the team), 1.5 sacks, and three interceptions. With Cox transferring and leading tackler Jackson Hankey graduating, the Bison will have two huge holes to fill on their defense in 2022.
Jasir’s older brother, Jabril, also played for the Bison before transferring to LSU as a graduate transfer in 2020. Jabril was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
