DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Becker County District Judge Jay Carlson has announced his retirement.
In a letter to Gov. Tim Walz on Tuesday, Carlson indicated his intention to retire on April 4.
Carlson is Chief Judge of the Minnesota Seventh Judicial District encompassing Becker, Clay, Otter Tail, Todd, Wadena, Stearns, Benton, Douglas, Mille Lacs and Morrison counties.
“I greatly appreciate having had the honor and privilege to serve the people of Minnesota as a Judge of District Court,” said Carlson.
Carson was Seventh Judicial District Chief Judge for two terms.
