WADENA (KDLM) – More than $11,000 was raised, Monday to support the father of a Wadena-Deer Creek’s (WDC) women’s basketball player.
Both home and away fans who attend the women’s basketball game were encouraged to wear gray to show support for Gary Packer, who was diagnosed with brain cancer and recently placed in Hospice Care.
Packer is the father of Madison Packer, a senior on the WDC basketball team. Fans raised $11,500 to support the family through a free will offering chili feed, split the pot drawings and a silent auction at the game.
