DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Lakeshirts has agreed to pay $1 million for the naming rights of the new Detroit Lakes High School gymnasium.
The new gym, will be known as the Lakeshirts Fieldhouse. Lakeshirts, has agreed to pay $1 million in five annual installments for the rights. The agreement will likely outlast the actual use of the gym at 100 years.
Sanford has also shown interest in naming rights for a training room at the High School, said Amy Erickson at the Detroit Lakes School Board meeting, Tuesday, “Sanford expressed interest in getting naming rights for the new training room in honor of Dr. Tom Seaworth.”
Seaworth, a longtime physician in the Lakes Area served on the Detroit Lakes School Board from 1996-2016, and has served as the physician for Detroit Lakes High School sports teams from 1992 to the present.
The School Board says they’re currently working on a preliminary ten year agreement with Sanford.
