MAHNOMEN (KDLM) – Community Co-op plans to rebuild the Pump 24 C-Store in Mahnomen after it sustained heavy damage from a fire, Saturday, Nov. 20.
The damage to the store was significant and will require the store to be closed for several months while they rebuild.
“None of our pumps were damaged, so we’re in the process of working on getting our gas pumps and diesel pumps operational in the next 4 to 6 weeks,” said David Blomseth, Community Co-ops General Manager. A temporary fuel tank will also be set up soon at Community Co-ops office in Mahnomen for diesel fuel for government and essential service vehicles such as county vehicles, school buses and emergency vehicles from the Mahnomen area available from 8 to 4 Monday thru Friday and on weekends in cases of emergency.
Blomseth has ensured that all employees of Pump 24 will remain employed, “We’re planning to build back and open up bigger and better than ever, but that only happens with the great employees we have here in Mahnomen. We have committed that those employees will be paid through this processes, they won’t miss a paycheck.”
No injuries were reported from the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
