DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A woman was hit by a semi along Highway 34 near Detroit Lakes, Thursday.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. as the woman was walking along 385th Avenue in Detroit Lakes. A white Volvo semi continued driving after hitting the woman.
Heather Pihlaja of Frazee has been identified as the crash victim and is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the semi will likely have passenger side door damage and that alcohol was involved in the accident.
