5 Injured in Ada-Borup School Bus-Pickup Collision

GEORGETOWN, Minn. (KFGO) – A school bus and a pickup crashed Thurs. morning north of Moorhead, injuring four children and the driver of a pickup.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting the injuries to the children on the Ada-Borup School District were not life-threatening. The injuries to the pickup driver were more serious, but also non life-threatening. All five people were transported to a Fargo hospital.

Empting says the crash happened shortly before 7:30 near the corner of 190th Ave. N., and 40th St. near Georgetown.

The preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the northbound pickup failed to yield. The school bus was headed east. Empting says the school bus was equipped with a video camera. The pickup was pulling a large, enclosed trailer.

The sheriff’s office and state patrol are investigating.
