Smith Furniture and Carpet of Wadena To Pull Flooring Line in 2022

WADENA, MN (KDLM) – Since 1955, Smith Furniture and Carpet has been providing Wadena and the surrounding area with high-fashion bedroom, dining room, living room and patio furniture, and flooring accessories. But beginning in January 2022, a portion of their inventory will be disappearing. Smith Furniture will be ending their flooring line.

“We are no longer going to be Smith Furniture and Carpet. We are dropping our flooring line as of the end of the year.” says owner Christina Frost. “I know there are going to be a lot of disappointed customers, but this is going to be the best thing for the store.”

Frost says the lack of workers and installers played a major factor in the decision. “Unfortunately, we just don’t have the installers that we used to have. It’s getting harder to find good installers to work with. Sue and I can’t go out and measure like we used to offer. It’s been a tough go the last couple of years. We’ve really kicked around the idea of dropping the flooring selection, and we have decided to go ahead and close out all of our flooring.”

Smith Furniture is located on the corner of Jefferson and Colfax, downtown Wadena.
