Otter Tail River Watershed Looking for Public Input

Aug 24, 2021 | 3:31 PM

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Otter Tail River Watershed is looking for input from the public to help guide future efforts aimed at water quality.

The Otter Tail River Watershed spans from Mahnomen County all the way to the Red River in Breckinridge. The water plan will focus on the watershed upstream of Orwell Dam.

Anyone that lives, works, or recreates in the watershed is invited to complete a survey to help determine issues, concerns and opportunities that can be developed in the watershed. “That survey is going to be used to determine how we should best focus our local time and the funding that we have available to manage the natural resources within the watershed,” said Logan Riedel with the Soil & Water Conservation District.

The survey, which is available here is anonymous and should be completed by September 23.
