DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The 21st annual Street Faire at the Lakes is underway in Detroit Lakes this weekend.
The annual festival of art, craft and food in downtown Detroit Lakes normally held the first weekend after Memorial Day was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, this year’s event was moved to August to give organizers additional planning time.
Kim Betcher with the DLCCC says the date change will only affect this summer’s event, “Because of restrictions and things like that, we wanted to make sure that this year we had a good opportunity for traffic for vendors and a good experience for patrons that come”.
This year over 100 artists will be lining downtown Detroit Lakes to showcase and sell their work. The food court and beer garden will feature live music both days and there are plenty of activities for kids as well.
A full list of vendors and events is available at https://www.dlstreetfaire.com/
For those traveling through downtown Detroit Lakes they should be aware that Holmes St from Lake Ave to Washington Ave will be closed as well as Washington Ave from Hwy 10 to Frazee Street. All roads will reopen on Saturday, August 14th at 8:00 p.m.
