DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A Bible reading marathon will be held in Detroit Lakes on Saturday.
The event, which has been a staple of the Lakes Area since 2015 begins at 8 a.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Park.
“We’re looking for Detroit Lakes to become a Beacon of Righteousness.” said Barry Schoder, event organizer. “So we’re reading the Bible through from Genesis to Revelations – in the past we’ve done it consecutively, this year 80 different people will be reading for 1 hour at the same.”
Additionally, a marriage vow renewal ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. and a water baptism ceremony will be held at 4 p.m.
There is no cost to participate and the events are open to the public.
