PERHAM (KDLM) – Work on the new St Henry Area School building has begun.
Langer Construction of St Paul is the lead contractor of $8.1 million project. Principal Jason Smith says there will be one class room per grade – k through 6, an extra class room and a full-size gymnasium.
This next school year’s enrollment is estimated to be 145 and will be the last classes to attend in the current building. It was built in 1916 and will be demolished to make room for parking and playground areas.
Work is expected to take 9 to 12 months.
