DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The City of Detroit Lakes is reminding residents and vacationers what is and isn’t allowed within city limits as they gear up for a busy 4th of July holiday weekend.
Dogs and cats are not allowed on the City Beach and could even be impounded if they’re brought onto the beach. Additionally, the City asks that you clean up after your pets when walking them along City streets, sidewalks or public grounds.
Alcohol is also not allowed on the City Beach or in City Parks at any time without a special permit, violators could be charged with a misdemeanor offense.
Additionally, there will be no parking allowed along West Lake Drive from the Pavilion to Legion Road on Sunday, July 4th from 6:00 a.m. until after the fireworks display.
