DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Becker County would like to add a pavilion or gazebo to Dunton Locks Park.
The 53-acre, County Park is nestled on the shores of Muskrat Lake and Lake Sallie just three miles south of Detroit Lakes and has become a popular spot for residents and vacationers.
A number of shelters are available at the park, but Mike Brethorst, Becker County Administrator says it’s time to make improvements, “Right now it’s a nice facility, but it is getting aged. Our Commissioners have met on it, we’re going to partner with the Minnesota DNR and see if we can get ourselves an nice facility out there.”
Currently Dunton Locks Park features two shelters which can be reserved for family reunions, weddings and other gatherings. The proposed pavilion or gazebo would be a larger facility with full electric hookups and available to be reserved at no cost.
