NEW YORK MILLS (KBRF) – Around 1:51 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16 the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by BNSF stating that one of their westbound trains along US Highway 10, had struck a pedestrian just west of the State Highway 106 junction.
With the assistance of the New York Mills Fire Rescue, the 29 year-old New York Mills man was found deceased on the railroad tracks.
The man was transported by ambulance to Lake Region Hospital for an autopsy. His identity is being withheld until notification of family.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and BNSF.
