FRAZEE (KDLM) – A teenager from Frazee is helping families whose children are battling cancer.
Sophia Strand will be hosting her annual ‘Cupcakes for Cancer’ fundraiser on Saturday, June 11 in front of the Frazee Fire Hall.
Sophia, who will be 14 this month and a Freshman at Frazee High School in the fall has been helping families since she was in 1st grade, “I started in 1st grade when my teacher was diagnosed with cancer three days before school started, so I setup a little stand outside my parents garage sale and raised about $300 to help pay for her chemo, I’ve been doing it ever since,” said Strand.
Sophia hopes to raise more than $1,000 on Saturday selling cupcakes and cookies beginning at 7 a.m.
