DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Lightning was the likely cause of a house fire in Detroit Lakes, Monday night.
The Detroit Lakes Fire Department responded to a house fire late Monday night on the 600 block of Main Street West in Detroit Lakes.
Fire Chief Ryan Swanson says it appears a lightning strike was the cause of the fire. The fire caused major damage to the roof of the home, but did not get into the living space.
The Detroit Lakes Fire Department was aided by Audubon and Wolf Lake to help put out the blaze.
