DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Todd Jackson, a physical education teacher has been named the 2021 Education Minnesota Detroit Lakes Teacher of the Year.
Jackson, a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary and the Detroit Lakes Area Learning Center was one of 8 nominees from the district.
“Through the hectic times of COVID, Todd has continued to strive to uphold rigor and expectations of our kids while still working to learn and grow. His charisma and energy is infectious,” his nominator said in a video posted on Facebook.
The winner was selected by a random drawing of all the nominees. Education Minnesota is the union representing pre-K to 12 teachers, school support staff and higher education faculty in Minnesota.
