The inaugural Roadhouse Celebrity Golf Classic will be at Forest Hills Golf Course on Friday, June 4th and will feature a number of retired NFL players on the course.
The 18-hole four person scramble will begin at 12:00 and each team will have the opportunity to golf a hole at Forest Hills with a number of former Vikings and Gophers including Chuck Foreman, Erin Henderson, Ted Brown, Carl Lee, Vencie Glenn, Darrin Nelson, Leo Lewis, Mike Harris, Jay Foreman, Darrell Thompson and Rickie Foggie.
“Eleven of the twelve players will be rotating around,” says event organizer Tony Leaf. “So about every other hole you’ll be able to scramble with these guys. Chuck Foreman will kind of be free-floating with JJ Kearn who helps run the MPFL Youth Football league.”
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Midwest Premier Youth Football League.
“The MPFL is an organization that started in Brainerd that recruits kids from all over the state,” said Leaf. ” They’ve done some things in our area here as recently as Easter. They held a scrimmage and camp at the FargoDome.”
Teams participating in the scramble get 18 holes of golf with a cart, an event shirt, and a meal and meet and greet with the players at the Roadhouse after the event. There are also cash prizes for the top three teams and course prizes for the longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin. The entry fee is $600 per team. You can get signed up by calling Tony at 701-219-1203.
