FARGO, N.D (KDLM)-
Authorities have confirmed that a man died in a courtroom at the Fargo Federal Courthouse after taking his own life on Monday afternoon.
Around 2 pm, first responders were called to the Courthouse after reports that a man on trial slit his throat with a pen or a scalpel after a verdict was reached. The man, facing multiple terrorizing-related charges, was sentenced to life in prison without parole. According to witnesses inside the courtroom, the man’s attorney asked for a 24-hour release, which the judge denied. That’s when the man stood up and cut his throat.
The investigation has been turned over to the FBI in partnership with the Fargo Police Department.
