PERHAM (KDLM) – Kevin Kupferschmid of Perham was recently recognized by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for his 40-years of service to the organization.
The award was presented on Saturday, May 1, 2021 by DNR Conservation Officer, Chris Vinton at the Perham Sportsman’s Club’s, Firearms Safety Certification – Youth Field Day training.
Kupferschmid’s role with the Perham Sportsman’s Club includes, but is not limited to, hunter firearms safety instruction, mentoring youth deer hunters at the Koehler Conservation Area land dedicated to youth and disabled hunters, and participation in wildlife, forestry and wetland conservation activities. In addition to his involvement with the Perham Schools MSHSL Clay Target Team, the Minnesota DNR, Hides for Habitat, and the Adopt a River program, he is also an active, lifetime member of the East Ottertail Minnesota Deer Hunters Chapter, Ducks Unlimited, and the NRA.
“Kevin’s non-assuming personality and knowledge-based approach to teaching youth and adult firearms safety is greatly appreciated by all who know him,” says Nick Theroux, Executive Director of the Perham Sportsman’s Club. “Working alongside him is a pleasure.”
