DETROIT LAKES (KNSI/KDLM) – Last week was a deadly week on Minnesota roads.
Since May 1 more than a dozen people have died on Minnesota roadways.
Four deaths were speed-related, three involved alcohol, and two were unbelted motorists.
283 drivers have been cited in Minnesota this year for driving over 100mph and Seargent Jesse Grabow says a lack of respect and responsibility by drivers is creating dangerous situations on roadways, “speeding is one of the most common violations we see, …it’s a lack of respect and responsibility is what it ultimately comes down to.”
The last time Minnesota reached over 120 fatalities in early May was in 2008, when 132 people died on Minnesota roads.
