DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Washington Avenue and North Shore Drive roundabout will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning, Monday, May 3.
Detours will be posted as crews complete sidewalk and street improvements.
In April the Detroit Lakes City Council approved adding additional signage, crosswalk markings and raised pavement markers around the island of the two newest roundabouts in Detroit Lakes.
Efforts by the City to educate drivers on common roundabout errors including disregarding yields and braking while in the circle have improved traffic flow, the City now hopes the additional efforts will reduce potential safety issues.
