DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Employees of BTD Manufacturing donated more than $10,000 to the St. Jude Radiothon, Friday.
Leighton Broadcasting stations, KDLM, 102.3 KRCQ & WAVE 104.1 encouraged Lakes Area residents and businesses to help support the St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital during the St. Jude Radiothon, Thursday and Friday.
“BTD graciously matches what we collect from employees up to $5,000,” said Matt Maneval of BTD. Employees, with the company match were able to donate $10,860 to the cause this year.
The funds raised are used to help end childhood cancer; families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
Lakes Area Residents and businesses can still become a Partner in Hope by giving $19 per month at 1-800-455-9196 or online at StJude.org
