PARK RAPIDS (KDLM) – A Hubbard County Deputy Sheriff was forced to tase and then shoot a dog at a home near Park Rapids after being bitten, recently.
The Deputy, exited his squad car and was in the driveway on April 10 attempting to serve two Court ordered restraining orders, when two large dogs, described as a Bulldog mix and a Pitbull approached him aggressively.
One of the dogs was tased after it tried biting the officer. The Deputy was then forced to shoot the second dog after it ripped the taser from his hand and bit him causing a severe wound.
After the attack, the homeowners came out of their residence and after a brief discussion with the homeowners, the Deputy left the scene to seek medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
One of the dogs was euthanized due to its injuries.
