Moondance Jam, Moondance Jammin’ Country Fest a Go this Summer

Apr 8, 2021 | 10:53 AM

(KNSI) — One small step closer to normal, the Moondance Festivals are returning for summer 2021.

According to a press release from organizers, when Governor Tim Walz announced the most recent round of rollbacks on COVID-19 related restrictions, it opened the doors for outdoor festivals to resume.

It says that while challenges may lie ahead, they are seeing “the light at the end of the tunnel” and are “committed to Jammin’ at Moondance with you this June and July.”

Moondance Jammin Country Fest and Moondance Jam are both going on as scheduled. Jammin Country Fest is set for June 17th through the 19th. Moondance Jam will be July 22nd through the 24th in Walker.

There are some changes for 2021.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will not be on the bill for Jammin Country Fest as their tour schedule won’t resume until later in the summer. Tyler Farr, Lauren Alaina, JoDee Messina, Blackhawk, Kentucky Headhunters, Neal McCoy, David Lee Murphy are confirmed performers.

The lineup for Moondance Jam is still being filled in, and organizers are working with several more artists and bands to fill in the remaining timeslots. Grand Funk Railroad, Firehouse, Alice Cooper, Todd Rundgren, Night Ranger, and Lit are on the bill.

The ticket price increase was scheduled for March 15th but pushed off until April 15th. Fans who have bought tickets, camping, or chair tags for the 2020 events, those will be honored for the new dates.

Also announced, for 2022 and beyond, organizers plan to transition Moondance into a seasonal campground with smaller events and live entertainment.

The press release says there may be changes or situations that come up that are out of the organizers’ control, but they’re “ready for the challenge.”
