AUDUBON (KDLM) – The new Ortons Audubon Cenex store is now open along Highway 10 in Audubon.
The old convenience store was torn down in September with a temporary store remaining open during the construction process.
The new Ortons Audubon Cenex is more than your average convenience store, open 24/7 and offering fuel, both gas and diesel; fresh made pizzas, pastries and deli offerings all day, as well as the well-known fried chicken restaurant, Chester’s Chicken and a complete liquor store.
Since opening in early March, the new store has been well received in the community as well as with commuters with recent patrons flocking to social media after visiting to say things like, “Convenience store/liquor store… genius!”, “the selection is awesome”, and “They added a liquor store and a Chester’s Chicken to the new store and it’s amazing!!”
With the additional amenities and expanded hours, Ortons Audubon Cenex is hiring a number of positions including cashiers and management positions to help round out its team.
The Orton Oil Company traces its beginning to 1950 when Leland and Maude Orton purchased a Ford Dealership and Standard Oil Service Station.. The company, based in Walker, MN remains family owned, now in its fourth generation operating 14 convenience stores.
