DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Senator Kent Eken is confident every Minnesotan who wants a COVID-19 vaccine will be able to get one by Summer.
As of March 1, more than 460,000 Minnesotans have completed COVID-19 vaccine series, with more than 900,000 having at least one dose.
Eken believes a bigger problem may be convincing more Minnesotan’s to receive the vaccine, “soon we may have the problem being hesitancy of people wanting to take the vaccine, by this summer we’ll probably get everyone the vaccine who wants it, but there will probably still be a significant number of people who have hesitancy about it.”
Recent polling data, however has shown that fewer and fewer Americans are unwilling to get a COVID vaccine. The State as well as the Federal government will likely increase efforts to convince the unvaccinated to receive the vaccination through education and in some instances incentives.
