Icy Roads Cause Multiple Rollovers Along Highway 10 Wednesday Morning

Feb 24, 2021 | 10:16 AM

MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO) – A combination of freezing drizzle, falling temperatures, and snow overnight and again today has created extremely icy travel conditions that have caused a number of accidents.

Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says troopers have been busy responding to crashes, including spin-outs, rollovers, and jackknifed semi’s along I-94 and Highway 10 east of Moorhead. No serious injuries have been reported.

He is advising drivers to slow down and pay attention to changing road conditions. He says the recent nice weather lulled drivers into thinking they were ready “to go again” and are driving too fast for conditions.

There have been some close calls. Moorhead police were assisting state troopers at a crash near the weigh station on I-94 east of Moorhead when a vehicle driving without lights on narrowly missed a squad car that was stopped at the site of the crash. The driver was cited.
