$1,000 Grants Available for Child Care Providers in Becker County

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Becker County Board of Commissioners has created an emergency relief grant program for Child Care providers affected by COVID-19.

The grant, developed with local business owners, childcare providers, and the Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce will give qualifying child care providers $1,000 in grant money.

“Child Care is essential to keep the workforce in place, without childcare the workforce is negatively impacted. This grant will help offset some of their costs incurred” said Barry Nelson, Becker County Board Chair.

To qualify, childcare providers must be certified and be actively caring for children other than their own as of February 16, 2021. Online grant applications will be available at www.co.becker.mn.us until March 8, 2021.
