ST. PAUL (KDLM) – A Lake Park-Audubon teacher has been nominated for Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year.

Kristen Frank, who teaches Third Grade at LPA was among 75 teachers nominated across the state.

The program celebrates excellence in teaching and includes teachers in grades pre-K through 12th grade, plus instructors with early childhood family education and adult basic education programs. Teachers can be from either private or public schools.

The winners will be chosen by a panel of educators, business community leaders, non-profit organizations, and philanthropists. The 75 will be whittled down to a list of semifinalists, with the Teacher of the Year being named at a banquet in May. Whether that banquet is in person or virtual is up in the air.
