Detroit Lakes Middle School Students Back in Class Full-Time

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes School District is welcoming students back to in-person learning full-time today.

The School District began in-person learning for elementary students on January 19 and will now welcome middle school students through grade 9 back to in-person learning full-time, today.

Superintendent, Mark Jenson in an interview in January said he was excited to get gets back, “There was a potential of a spike after Thanksgiving, that never showed, a potential of a spike after Christmas and we’re not seeing it…we’re ready to rock and roll and excited to get our kids back,” Detroit Lakes School District Superintendent, Mark Jenson, said.

Grades 10 through 12 will remain in a hybrid model, but the District plans to monitor active COVID cases within the county with a hope of returning them to in-person learning soon.
