DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) -Blowing snow and dangerously low temperatures are expected to impact the Lakes Area this week and into the weekend.
The National Weather Service says a winter system will move into the area late Wednesday with at least some light snow. Blowing snow will reduce visibility under half a mile at times, mainly in open country.
A cold front will cause temperatures to drastically plummet after a seasonably warm Wednesday. Winds behind the cold front will also become gusty.
Dangerously cold wind chills are possible this weekend into early next week, reaching as low as 30-40 below.
