Rapala® Rechargeable Fillet Knives (Item No. RRFN) recalled
(KDLM) – Rapala USA is recalling around 128,000 of the company’s battery-operated fillet knives after some of them caught fire.
Some of the rechargeable batteries have been known to overheat when plugged into a charger not produced by Rapala, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The knives are sold for about $100 at Cabela’s, Fleet Farm and other retailers nationwide as well as at rapala.com.
Anyone who has one of the knives should stop using it immediately, remove the battery and look for a white “ETL” safety certification label on it. If the label is not there, you’re asked to contact Rapala for a free replacement battery.
