Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM)- Detroit Lakes Boys Basketball returned to the court for the first time in 10 days and improved to 2-1 with an 80-67 victory over Park Rapids on Tuesday night.

The Lakers, who last played on January 16th in a win over Staples-Motley, got a career night from senior center Zack Oistad. Oistad dominated the paint and led all scorers with 37 points.

As good as Oistad was under the basket, Park Rapids center Nick Michaelson opened things up from beyond the arc, knocking down seven three-pointers in a 29 point performance.

The Lakers led by as many as 15 points but saw their lead trimmed down to 66-60 midway through the second half after Michaelson scored 11 unanswered points, highlighted by a steal and a coast-to-coast dunk. A three by Detroit Lakes guard Nate Cihak helped get the lead back to double digits, and the lead never got to single digits again.

The Lakers (2-1) travel to Crosby to take on the Rangers on Thursday night at 7:15. Park Rapids (0-3) will host Pequot Lakes on Friday.
