4 Months Later, Minneapolis Hasn’t Kept Promise To Help With Cleanup

MINNEAPOLIS (MNN) — Four months after Minneapolis promised to kick in two-million dollars to help clean up damaged and destroyed buildings from last year’s riots – not much has happened.

Several city blocks are still covered in burned rubble and jagged metal remains of those buildings.

Property owners say their pleas for help haven’t even been answered.

Some of them say the city has threatened to fine them if they don’t get started – without the help. More than 150 properties suffered heavy damage or were burned extensively during the rioting that followed the death of George Floyd.
